Hipstamatic Contest Might Put Your iPhone ‘Art’ Beside Dali’s
To celebrate the opening of a new building at Florida’s Dali Museum, Hipstamatic is launching a contest that might help iPhone photographers land a spot next to one of the surrealist’s vaulted paintings.
Hipstamatic, known for throwing in elements of analog, toy-camera photography in the iPhone, has a Dali Museum GoodPak—a bunch of virtual lenses and film—meant to emulate Salvador Dali’s style.
Participants, using this GoodPak, can take their shots and submit it as part of the contest. All entries will be judged by filmmaker and visual artist John Waters, who will then curate a collection chosen from the best of the lot to be projected onto the museum’s new building. A further nine images will be exhibited inside the museum itself.
The building’s opening is slated for 1 January 2011.
